A Season Ends...

So its that time again… Out with the old and in with the new. This last season was actually pretty enjoyable and I’m pretty sure the next will be too.

Here’s a lil list of the stuff I finished up…

• ·         Gamers! (B+ - The miscommunication gag went on too long)
• ·         Convenience Store Boyfriend (C - It got muddy in the middle)
• ·         Classroom of the Elite (B - Good use of misdirection)
• ·         In Another World with My Smartphone (B+ - Guilty pleasure ^_^ /harem)
• ·         Knights & Magic (B - I like mechs... good blend with fantasy too)
• ·         Tsuredure Children (C - Scenarios were short but funny)
• ·         Hajimete no Gal (A - Comedy kept coming)
• ·         Restaurant to Another World (C - No real direction other than showing food)
• ·         Blade Runner: Black Out 2022 (ONA) (B+ - Good setup for the movie coming)
• ·         My Hero Academia Season 2 (A+ My current fav series)

They were all unique and some are juggernauts that are so good it will continue. I have a few shows that are continuing like Dragonball and Fate/Apocrypha and there are a bunch of new shows starting that I have to decide what I want to watch... plus for shits and giggles I’ve decided to go back and watch Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood because I’ve never seen it. I’m sure that will keep me busy.

I'm for sure watching Food Wars S3 and Black Clover... and maybe My Girlfriend Is ShoBitch and Itsudatte Bokura no Koi wa 10 Centi Datta. Haven't had some good drama/romance in a bit. We will see tho... I can almost guarantee I'll be watching more than just 4 shows this season but I'll have to wait and see what catches my eye.

I know its been a while since I've posted but I'm still here... Things just keep moving but its hard to keep posting when I'm so busy. Anime is still part of my daily routines and there are some pretty good shows running this season.

Ok... that was longer than I thought... 13 series. I didn't know I was watching that many.

Re-hash of some old memories...

So I've been reading a lot of comics lately... not sure if I mentioned that I like comics or that I read them, but I do. I also have been trying to read more non comic literature. I'm not a heavy reader so I figured I'd start with some light novels. And what better place to start than one of my favorite series…

Sword Art Online

I’ve been told that there are a lot of these books and when I did some digging… they were right. They aren’t really long, maybe 250~300 pages each from what I gathered so it should go pretty quickly. I’m just about done the first book and I had forgotten how much I loved this story. There’s a little bit of everything sprinkled in just right… Fantasy, Action, Drama, Romance… They all come together so well. I’ve seen the series… and the little go between hour OVA or mini-movie. I’ve seen the second series as well and even went to a special showing of Ordinal Scale the movie a month or so ago.

Edit: First book finished and I’m starting to see how they divvied up the chapters and set the structure of the anime episodes. Those side stories with Silica and Lisbeth had to be sprinkled in at the right times.

A Return...

Not a lot has changed since my last post...

I did get a new job... still doing the same thing in the same place... confusing I know. 

The Anime seasons have changed and there is a lot of good shows currently airing... A lot of long awaited sequels...

Those are just some of the new shows that I find enjoyable... Now if there was just more hours in a day I could probably find time to watch it all.

Still Alive... And kicking!

So its been a while... That's an understatement I guess. But like always... the more things change the more things stay the same. Time is the only constant... Kids get older and winter breaks come and go... So here's a few things I'm excited about..

-Superbowl! The big game is tomorrow and although I'm not really a fan of either of the teams playing, you can be sure I'll be watching with the family. Personally I really hope that Brady doesn't get another ring. I mean, he's already like the winningest quarterback in football history and has 4 rings already... Does he really need another one? Second, is that Matt Ryan on the Falcon side of the ball is nearly a hometown guy... hes from PA, I'm not sure what area. 

-NINTENDO SWITCH!!! Holy fuck am I siked about this... So I had a plan for my tax return this year... New TV, gaming laptop and a PS4... Thanks to Nintendo throwing a monkey wrench into my plan looks like it might just be a new TV and the rest is up in the air. If you've been living under a rock with no access to modern media then maybe you haven't heard about it... But if you're living in the real world with the rest of us than you should at least have an inkling of what I'm talking about. I know that at launch there isn't going to be loads of titles but there are some good ones just around the corner and with Zelda a definite for day 1 they can probably hold off the masses to let the games start rolling in. Mario Kart in April and Mario Odyssey later in the year it should get interesting... Not to mention Splatoon 2, 1 2 switch, Arms, Super Bomberman R and Sonic Mania... There are tons of confirmed titles for this new console...

Those are just 2 of the things coming down the pike that I'm looking forward to... Now, if by some miracle I pull off getting a PS4 and a Switch then there are TONS of games coming for the PS4 that look absolutely amazing for 2017.

Is Pokemon Go Dead?

Seems like no one is playing this anymore... Kinda funny how big of a craze this turned out to be. I was reading an interview with the Niantic guys and what was supposed to be a gradual roll out of features and content ended up being condensed into like a 2 or 3 week span.

They're not done yet tho... There is Gen 2 pokemon still to come as well as trading and battling that needs to be implemented. I'm not deleting my accounts or anything but i just dont see myself opening the app as much as i used to. Netflix has resumed its commute consumption and i have 2 untouched pokemon games that i received for my birthday that i would still like to play... Sun and Moon are rapidly approaching with new pokemon and game mechanics and none of that stuff even includes the Xbox One games coming into the picture.

Hopefully Gen2 pokemon reinvigorates the declining user base... Only time will tell.

Level 23 (late post)

So I hit level 23 and took a SS of the animation when it happened... but for some reason forgot to post it. So here it is... Things don't feel real different from the update but we will have to see what happens.

Finally... Level 22 + Avatar Change

Ok so it took me a lil longer to hit 22 than i anticipated but I finally got there. Thanks large in part to the lucky egg that I popped and then evolved like 40+ Pokemon. Well, I don't think it was that much. Maybe a lil less considering some of my evolutions were new pokemon. The reward for hitting 22 wasn't nearly as big as I would've liked considering my current lack of balls but I'll take what I can get. Also, with the latest update they've added the ability to change your avatar on the go. I never really liked the one I made and I've played with changing him but even then he never came out right and I was never ok with it. I decided to switch to the girl avatars. I have to say that they look so much better than the guys. At least they could've given us Ash or something. Sate our thirst for Pokemon goodness. But whatever... Here's the new avatar and my level up picture. 

W00t w00t level 21!!

Ok... Still at this pokemon go stuff... Been doing better with my pokedex you could say and now I'm up to level 21. I have a bunch of pokemon ready to evolved and a lucky egg ready to help me. I think I'll probably do that later today and see how far along that gets me. I have at least 10 to 12 pidgey's ready to go no to mention a few others that are actually going to be new pokemon for me. They will give even more XP when I evolve them. Finally was able to catch a Scyther. That shit was elusive as all hell. Even with berries and ultraballs he was bailing every time I tried to catch him.

Level 19!

Finally hit 19 after a couple days of light hunting. Ran into a few people at random that okay on the train today. Pretty cool having something in common with absolute strangers.
