Games with Gold for September

Everyone likes free shit right? Since June of 2013 Microsoft has been giving away games religiously every month through this program. There have been some really great games along the way and owning them digitally is a real help. You can basically download them whenever you wanted... Even though it started on the 360 its continued its legacy on the Xbox One.

[List of Games]

Just to point out a few really awesome ones...

Halo 3 (360) October 2013
Gears of War (360) December 2013
Saints Row: The Third (360) May 2014
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (360) June 2014
Halo: Spartan Assault (One) June 2014
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (One) July 2015
Rayman Legends (One) March 2015
Bioshock Infinite (360) March 2015
Gears of War 3 (360) July 2015

This month is no exception...

Well, the Deer God game is really weird.. (yea I tried it... its horrible)

The second half of September... Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition

Forza 6 is Almost Here!

I have been playing Forza since its inception on the original xbox. I've literally owned every single one. I think 4 was the best simply for the sheer amount of content that came with the GOTY edition... which I ended up buying as a second copy. Yes, I bought more than one copy... and it wasn't the first time either. I actually bought 2 copies of FM3 as well.

So it's that time again...

This year its a whole new ball game... More cloud computing and Drivatars and now we get the new Ford GT and a boat load of Autovista cars. In 5 there weren't that many that got the full Autovista treatment but this time I think its like 400+ cars and the gameplay is running in 1080p60fps. Thats blazing fast.

I just downloaded the demo and played through the limited career mode they offered... Which is about 3 to 5 races long and at the end it opens up the Rivals Mode which has leaderboard functionality. I only did the first race and my first time was good enough for about 800+ place on the leaderboard. I'm sure if I spent more time with it that I could probably get it down but who's got time for that? There are far too many games coming out this holiday season... Not to mention that Madden is still in full swing. I really wanna pick this game up but it may have to wait.

MADDEN 16

NUFF SAID!!

I'm actually lying... theres a lot to be said. This year they upped their game and have revamped a lot of features to the game. Presentation is at an all time high... almost to an annoying level sometimes like when your done a play and trying to move on with the game but they decide to show like every player walking off the field and you can't even skip it... Kinda annoying.

Passing game has been revamped with all new buttons to get used to with passing and with catching. Sure they kept the lob and bullet mechanic but added things like touch passes and with LB or LT you can make a pass either high or low intentionally.

The running game feels more fluid than last year and I'm still learning all the moves and subtle nuances involved in getting a good running game going. Will get back when I learn more.

ULTIMATE TEAM!!!
All new cards...
All new players...
The shit's like Pokémon... I gotta catch em all.

Got my team off the ground and running and already up to an 81OVR. Not too shabby but not great either IMO. Not saying I'm an awesome madden player by any means cuz I still make rookie mistakes here and there. (they better get their act together. I bought the $100 version and 1 pack/week is ass cheeks)

I'm not going to rate the game because it's Madden. There really isnt any other game like it... Thanks to clever licensing by EA... sorry 2K sports but no NFL for anyone but them.

Anime Revisited!

An oldie but terribly good...

The Devil is a Part-timer
(Hataraku Maou-sama!)

Plot: The Demon Lord Satan and one of his generals, Alciel, escape the world of Ente Isla through a gate to modern Tokyo, Japan after being confronted by the Hero Emilia and her companions. However, due to the lack of magic in the modern contemporary world, both Satan and Alciel change into forms representing what they would look like if they were human. In order to survive, Satan takes a part-time job in a fast food restaurant named MgRonald while Alciel serves as his houseman. One day, Satan, who now goes by Sadao Maō, meets a girl who is actually the Hero Emilia, who now goes by Emi Yusa. The story then unfolds and explores the personalities of each of the characters and their moral values. More characters show up from Ente Isla and they too face the new world dilemmas, often comically.

So here's why I watched it again... I was introducing my family to anime. Its pretty much that simple. They aren't really into watching much but I got them to agree to watch this because everyone gets a night and we watch something on Netflix. I simply used my night for anime... My wife didn't mind it and my middle daughter was actually watching and appeared to like it. My oldest however kept saying it was boring... BOOO!

So, seeing as we've now finished this.. I now need to pick a new show to make them watch... Can't think of what to pick.. I'll have to take my time.

Sooooooooooo many choices... [MY LIST]

Full on Funny

I enjoy comedy... Probably above all else. I think its one of those things that like 90% of the anime I watch ends up with that listing in the 'genre' category. This show just keeps getting better and better.

I honestly cant remember if I've talked about it before but its great... Its set in a super strict future where all lewdness is forbidden and you can't even crack dirty jokes. Everyone is monitored by PM's (they are these lil bracelets that track everything you say/do/draw) and they suck basically. But theres a terrorist that fights back by using dirty jokes and naughty drawings... Sexual repression only leads to curiosity... And that is exactly what happens. Great show tho.. Highly recommend it.

Fall Anime Chart (V1 So it says)

So I just stumbled across this little tidbit... According to the pic is V1 but I guys maybe things can change? I only recognized a few series on there so I will be watching out for those...
(edit: This was released on 7/30 it seems... I'm all late and shit)

What ones are you looking forward to?

New Series

So I think I probably watch too much anime… I know that sounds weird coming from someone who is writing a blog about the subject but it’s a personal opinion. I’m sure the other side is probably true also, that there are people who watch more and think I could probably step up my game a lil bit.

But…

Despite all that, I actually ended up starting a new series. I found it on Netflix and its’ called Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet.

Synopsis: It’s the future obviously and mankind is locked in a battle for survival against an alien species known as the ‘Hideauze’. They are like plants with tentacles flying in space that shoot lasers… Not very inviting trust me. Anyway in an offensive against the Hideauze, our protagonist, Ensign Ledo, a promising young pilot is lost in a wormhole running away from the failing mission. He awakens six months later on a watery planet inhabited by earthlings thought to be lost when earth froze over millennia ago. The story continues from there…

Now I’m only 2 episodes in and I can already tell that I’m going to like this show. I need to focus on one show and knock that out before I start another but I just can’t help myself.

Wish Me Luck...

So a long long time ago, I watched Full Metal Alchemist. It was a great story and the animation was really done well. In all fairness I actually didn't finish the first series. I think I was short by something like 3 or 4 episodes but it never really bothered me too much. When they released the follow up, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, I told myself that I was going to watch it. I never did... I procrastinate too much for my own good sometimes.

Fast forward to present day... The entire FMA:Brotherhood series is on Netflix. And... I'm gonna watch it. Wish me luck.

A Level 10 Summoner

So I did mention that I started back on League of Legends and I've finally made it to summoner lvl 10. I know that might not seem like much to some people, particularly those who've been playing forever, but its an accomplishment for me. I'm still learning all the mechanics of the game and trying to figure out what Champions are my favorites and who I'd consider splurging all my points on.

Just to point out, this is a 'Freemium' game. Meaning that its free to play but you can pay money to progress... Not like, cheat code progression, but still boosting and stuff like that. It takes time to level up and earn those precious rune slots and points for your masteries but if you pay money or in their case RP (points bought with cash etc.) then you can get those boost to level your summoner or earn more IP (in-game currency) faster. I can honestly say that I'm considering spending a lil bit of money on this game. Not much mind you but maybe $20. I think its worth that much. The real kicker is that if I wanted to, I could charge the in-game currency to my cell phone bill. How crazy is that... or, the fact that they will take gift cards from other places as their own.

Enough about that, lets talk about the Champions... There are I think, 10 free each week for you to play and get the hang of. I bought almost all the 450 IP cost champions... Those are like the 'beginner' crew IMO. I really like Ashe and Master Yi. I find myself almost gravitating towards Yi every match. I need to start branching out and trying other people.

One of the free ones this week is...

Ahri (link)
the Nine Tailed Fox

Lore
Unlike other foxes that roamed the woods of southern Ionia, Ahri had always felt a strange connection to the magical world around her; a connection that was somehow incomplete. Deep inside, she felt the skin she had been born into was an ill fit for her and dreamt of one day becoming human...

''Mercy is a human luxury... and responsibility.''

-- Ahri

That is just an excerpt from her page over at LoL. Shes pretty impressive and I think she is where I may let my points go. I'm still trying to get a handle on all her mechanics and how to gank with her but I'll get it. Don't think its going to be easy but I'm confident in my gaming ability and think I'll be up to the challenge. Wish me luck.
