Holy Hell... It's been a while, right?

So its been a while since my last post and I've been busy as usual keeping up with all my series plus I've also been real busy gaming on my phone... I know, weird right? Who really games on their phone now a days... I think I spend probably an hour or more almost on their daily playing games... Mostly Clash of Clans... That shit is addicting... but enough of that... onto the ANIME!!

There were shows ending right? Like I said before, I'll talk a little about that but before I do I'd like to spotlight some new shows that just started for this season...

<drumroll>

SWORD ART ONLINE IS BACK!!!
I have to say... I'm super happy this show is back... This was everything that an episode 1 should be. Established characters... pointed the story in a direction and kind of left it open for the series to properly take shape. I CANNOT wait til this gets into full swing. The last series is one of my favorite shows of all time... Hell, I've honestly watched it 3x already... and it's 25 episodes, thats like 2 seasons worth of watching. The 2nd series is going to be around the same length as well... I urge everyone... WATCH THIS SHOW! Also, if for some reason you've been living under an anime-less rock for a while go watch the first series... It was amazing!

Second show I'm very excited about is a Manga-based show called Akame ga Kill! I have to shout out to the creator of this great story... I adore the manga. I've read everything thats currently available to me... that is, that was translated and put on one of the major manga reading sites like Batoto, Starkana, or Mangahere. I really hope they can bring the essence of the manga to the screen properly because this manga is BLOODY! So far so good, I liked the first episode and cant wait for more.
Now I mentioned how shows ended right... Well, I'm only going to mention the ones I really think you should watch...

  1. Black Bullet - This show started off great and never let me go. The characters were endearing and you really felt the sadness in the stuff they had to deal with and persevere.
  2. Blade & Soul - The story was pretty good and ended up with some decent plot twists when I really wasn't expecting them. Also, the art on this show is top notch. Definitely suggest this one to watch.
  3. No Game No Life - Can you say... Cliffhanger?! Not that it was a bad ending by any means but you can tell they were always looking for Season 2 in the way they handled it. Anyway, this show is pure entertainment. There is always something crazy going on and the group dynamic is really fun. This is a MUST WATCH show IMO!
  4. Akuma no Riddle - Definitely took me by surprise... I don't watch YURI... like EVER! But this show kept it interesting and the action sequences were pretty decent. Kind of a predictable ending if you ask me but it was what it was supposed to be I guess.
  5. Gokukoku no Brynhildr - Another manga based but this one had an awesome plot and really original story. All the quirky characters with their powers were cool and I'd like to see a second series with this... hopefully there will be.

No Game No Life and If Her Flag Breaks

Sadly, it's been a week since I've posted and I really didn't mean to be away that long... Work is just a pain sometimes and when I get home I don't just hop on the computer. It's usually family time and then later on when they all go to bed I stay up a lil later and watch and play whatever I want. That being said, there were some really good episodes this week...

  • Black Bullet is getting better and better.
  • Nisekoi is sadly gearing up for the final episode next week.
  • One Week Friends is still and enjoyable lil slice of life romance.
  • Captain Earth is still the most surprising for me... I did not expect the show to be that good. Especially with that premise... The whole save humanity kind of thing.
But I'm making this post for the sake of No Game No Life and If Her Flag Breaks...

I think that Flags was relatively weak this time around... Good ep, and Souta learns alot, but now he can't get anymore because looks like the girl has been tampered with.

No Game No Life was good but they spent the who episode in dialogue. The previous king lost on purpose to an insanely strong Foe so he could learn the secret to the game. He did and they find a secret room with the info... Sora is now fired up to take on the challenge. Can't wait for more.

No Game No Life ep 6

This show just can't stop being awesome. Getting more and more into this every week.. i can already see myself reeling when it ends... Please god let me find out there's a half way decent manga behind this.

So the battle with the Flugel is a go and its epic... They're playing Shiritori, but a special kind, Materialization Shiritori... The things you say appear and disappear. How does Sora start the game?...

BOOM! Shit is funny... They go back and forth as you might expect with the outcome being clear before it even started. [Blank] just doesn't lose when it comes to games. So in accordance with the pledges... Jibril (thats the Flugel's name) now belongs to Shiro and Sora. Haha, on a side note, during the game... they actually KILLED Steph.

Now that it's over... and im sad it is as you could expect... Gonna go watch "If Her Flag Breaks" and probably "Hitsugi no Chaika".

No Game No Life 4

Enjoying this show more and more...

So the end of the game... and of course they win. They had to for the story to progress but still, they won in a weird manner. Like the enemy king just died or something. Odd as it is, mission accomplished right?

-WRONG-

At the coronation they are told that they can't both be King and they decide to fight to see who wins the prize. Sora and Shiro however cannot beat eachother and its like forced to a tie. They realize however that no where does it say there cant be 2 Kings. Now they're Co-Kings more or less.

Their coronation speech is pretty inspiring while condescending at the same time... Like we're weak so we're smart... Lets win! Fun stuff. I can't wait for the rest of the series... The goal changed to Conquer the World i believe so its going to get more interesting from here on out.

They also got to meet God again... turns out he pulled them there because he hates to lose and Shiro beat him god in chess. Funny how that goes.

Tonight I Watched Some Shows... And Read Some Things.

Let's see here...

No Game No Life episode 3 was pretty good. Not as good IMO as the first 2 but its moving the story along. Sadly it ended without a conclusion to the game but its fine i think. You already know they don't lose if its a game so they will become King/Queen of Imanity more or less.
Kanojo Ga Flag Wo Oraretara episode 3 was fine as far as the episodes go... I know its still early in the series but again i think the first 2 left more of an impact. They did, however, introduce another girl for Souta's harem... Another childhood friend. This time it's a tomboy girl who is now a man-hating battle girl. I'm sure she'll soften up and show some nice Tsun-dere moments. I look forward to them.

Here's a new one... From out of the blue actually. Picked it up on a complete and utter whim....

<Drumroll>

What no applause? So i wasn't sold on the idea... I only read the synopsis like once but was trying to find something to waste about 45 minutes on before bed tonight and gave it a shot. I have to say... Impressed! Enough actually to watch all 3 eps that are available. Wasn't really blown away, the story isn't really that original, but the way they are going about pulling it off is pretty novel and i enjoy the animation. Character designs are good without being overly generic. 3 1/2 or 4 outta 5 I'd say. Good show. If you haven't watched any of this... take a peak, you might be surprised.

Thats all for now... Well, just one more thing actually... Have you ever had a manga that you just couldnt put down? I'm not perfect, I like to buy the volumes if i can but i DO read most of my stuff online. Usually because they don't sell it in my area in my language... For the life of me i cannot seem to put down Baby Steps. Just completely enthralled with that series. Was glad to see it get animated but im anxious to see how far they take it with a limited number of episodes... Plus the manga has time skips... sometimes months at a time. Going to be interesting going forward.

No Game No Life!!!

This show... Is the Best! Absolutely the best. I know its only 2 episodes in
but man... I havent been this excited about an anime in such a long time. The premise is awesome and so far the comedy is great. Plus there is just enough fan service to satisfy the masses.

Its about a pair of siblings who don't go to school and only play games day in and day out. And when i say play games i mean PLAY games. The opening sequence is them playing 4 accounts at once in an MMO and beating everyone. Its crazy to think that anyone could do that... We know its impossible but still funny to see. Anyway, they are fed up with the game of life and wish for something better. They get an email that leads them to a whole new world where everything is decided by playing games. Needless to say, with their know how and intuition with games they are destined to rule this land... And the story takes off from there...

Afterthoughts: So far the story is very interesting and the characters are pretty fun. Sora and Shiro are really close and looks like they have a complex. Can't be away from each other or else they start spazzing out. Add to the mix the grand daughter of the late king who's now in love with the MC. Classic setup but new way of doing it. This show just shot up to #1 on my radar for this season and i cant wait to see the rest, only sad part is that its only slated for a 12 episode run.
