SAO and Fate/Stay Night

New ep of SAO came out today. Looks like they finally were able to go home. After an update to ALO, the New Aincrad 20-30 floors open and as the group progresses, they defeat and unlock floor 22... This is reminiscent of the first series. When Kirito and Asuna get married they kinda take a break from the front lines and go settle down in a house near the lake on the 22nd floor. Asuna has wanted to go back there soo much and its almost like dream come true it seems.

Also, a new challenge presents itself in the form of 'Zekken'... An imp swordsman who takes on all challengers betting a unique sword skill as the prize. Seems that everyone in the group has lost to him... except Asuna. I think this new Arc will have her become the MC for a bit... at least thats how i see it. I dont mind either way... hope this show just keeps on coming.

Seems like years and years have gone bye since I originally watched the first Fate/Stay Night series and it seems I'm even more enthralled this time than i was last time. Rin finally attacks Emiya as he's at school without Saber and is defenseless. Their battle leads them outside where they find a young girl unconscious and near death. Emiya saves Rin from a Servants attack and haphazardly chases her into the woods. I recognize her as 'Rider' from before and she nearly kills Emiya. He's saved by the bell so to speak by Rin who is now indebted to Emiya once again for saving her life. They retreat to her mansion where she treats his wounds and they talk about Emiya's dad and what little training he's received in the way of being a mage.

Both of these shows are awesome and I'm gonna be sad to see either one go.... And sadly, I'd bet they are both going to end at roughly the same time.

SAO 2 episode 15

Seems like what I thought was going to happen did... The series has shifted back to Alfheim and their new friend Sinon is no longer in GGO but has transferred to ALO to be with everyone.
Kirito is back to his normal self and finds out from Sugu that Excalibur was found. Everyone knows that Excalibur is only given to the greatest sword... Kirito is a loot whore and wants the sword. They gather the troops and head in to goto the dungeon. On the way they are visited by an NPC calling herself the Queen of the Lake. Yui tells them something is off with the NPC and shes been elevated to an AI instead. She puts the group on this path to save the world with an epic quest to infiltrate the dungeon and retrieve Excalibur to save the newly frozen game zone... They gang accepts and they are off to the dungeon. To be continued...

Some Stuff I Watched...

Didn't post for a little while but that don't mean I didn't watch anything as I'm always watching something. If you want to know what I'm watching on Crunchyroll you can always find that out on my twitter feed @blackhawksnip3r. It's a pretty neat little function that whenever I watch something it posts it on twitter. Helpful sometimes when even I don't remember what I watched. So, as twitter says... this is what I've watched recently...

Trinity Seven Episode 1
CROSS ANGE Rondo of Angel and Dragon Episode 2
Sword Art Online Episode 14.5 (It's a recap episode so... thats why its .5)

Your Lie in April Episode 1

I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying Episode 2
Chaika - The Coffin Princess - Avenging Battle Episode 1 (I didn't get to finish this tho)

-=My Thoughts=-

So a few new series starting and I'm gonna have to say that Trinity Seven shows the most promise with Your Lie in April coming in a close second. There is actually some more episode 1's that I need to watch but have yet to do so... God I wish there was just more hours in the day. SAO was just a recap and I'm not mad because I think that like season 1 it is about to shift in another direction. The  I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying is only small episodes like 3 minutes. Just a funny look at an a normal Wife dealing with an Otaku husband. Chaika seems to pick up where season 1 left off or a little after that. I need to go back and watch the rest. CROSS ANGE is getting weirder as it goes on... The MC is almost raped by her superior... crazy stuff but I'll continue watching because someone has to... :)

I'm really excited about Trinity Seven. I read a good deal of the manga that was available to me and it's a pretty interesting story and I like the characters and how they are presented and developed.

Sword Art Online 2 ep 14

It picks up immediately where it left off from the last episode... With Sinon being assaulted in her apartment from her friend and co-death gun conspirator Kyouji. She manages to make it to the door and unlock everything but gets pulled back in... Kirito bursts in to save the day but nearly gets killed by the syringe hidden in Kyouji's pocket. The syringe amazingly hits one of the electrode's still attached to Kirito's chest from the monitoring equipment back at the hospital.

The police arrest Kyouji and his older brother but are unable to apprehend the 3rd accomplice. They meet with they government agent who pulled Kirito back into the VRMMORPG world and more or less go over everything that happened and how they came to be killing people.

The episode ends in a very endearing way... Kirito takes Sinon to see Asuna and Lisbeth at the bar they always goto. Kirito told them about Sinon's past and what happened to her. They researched things and found the woman that was saved thanks to what Sinon did when she was younger. Her act of bravery that scarred her for life was also what saved that woman and the child that she was carrying. The way the lil 4 yr old girl hands her the drawing and calls her onee-chan was just too cute.

Oh I also forgot to mention that Kyouji's older brother... Zaza from SAO, left Kirito a message with the gov agent. It more or less said, 'This isn't over'. Glad theres 11 more episodes to go. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.

Sword Art Online 2 Episode 11

So I'm pretty much an SAO fanboy and I'm not ashamed to admit it... This was a good ep IMO and I look forward to the next as usual. Now for that recap..

Sinon and Kirito are still hold up in the desert cave trying to analyze the situation. Kirito comes up with a pretty convincing hypothesis... So, Death Gun isnt working alone... From the way he sees it he must have a partner that moves around in the real world while the DG avatar gets into position in the game. Like he cant just shoot someone with the handgun that kills until the partner actually infiltrates the Avatars IRL house and readies some kind of poison. The little cross gesture he performs when he shoots an avatar is to check his watch so they can synchronize the killing IRL.

Kirito and Sinon have decided to gamble next time on using Kirito as a decoy and Sinon will do what she does best and thats be a sniper. Tho they arent sure about DG abilities because his rifle is also powerful and has a silencer. Seems like its going to heat up from here and I am rather excited to see what happens...

At one point I had the first 10 volumes of the GN translated into English but a tragic HDD failure literally took 3TB worth of information from me.. I literally lost like everything I had been accumulating for nearly 10 years.. Makes me sad but there would be no way to have backed that stuff up... paying for online storage upwards of 3TB would have been quite expensive. Oh, well... win some and lose some... live and learn right?

Sword Art Online 2 Episode 9 and 10

I love SAO... The best anime IMO and this season 2 thing they got going on here is just about as good as the first was. Maybe there will be even more coming... we have to wait and see... On with the episode!

So it ended on a cliffhanger last week with Death Gun finally showing up... Show picks up right there and keeps on moving. They have a little face to face with Death Gun and he vanishes. Ep 9 ends with Sinon now staring down his barrel... Things look grim.

Episode 10 starts and in just the nick of time Kirito manages to save Sinon from being shot and takes off running... Sinon, who IRL has a problem with guns due to a trauma from 5 years ago, now starts to have the same problem in game... shes freezing up and is so scared she cant even pull the trigger. Death Gun gives chase and they manage to elude him to a desert area and hid in a cave. Sinon has a breakdown and it appears that Kirito now has someone else to protect... Isnt he noble?

A Bunch of Updates..

So, I'm nearing the end of my vacation and its Saturday. Time to watch some Anime...

We'll start with SAO II.
Another story developing episode... I'm not mad but I do hope it picks up soon. The ending was pretty nice with some foreshadowing... Hint hint... Death Gun appears! Yea, I'll give that much away but you should definitely watch this weeks episode. So... On to the next show!

Sword Art...

Are you watching this show? Please tell me that's a yes. They are doing everything right with the new series. They're not rushing and they're adding characters while giving them depth. Find myself waiting in anticipation every well already and is only episode three.

We just got done back story for the other MC of this serious the blue haired sniper in GGO. She's got some major trauma from when she was younger involving guns. Yet inside GGO it doesn't bother her. Interesting to say the least.

Holy Hell... It's been a while, right?

So its been a while since my last post and I've been busy as usual keeping up with all my series plus I've also been real busy gaming on my phone... I know, weird right? Who really games on their phone now a days... I think I spend probably an hour or more almost on their daily playing games... Mostly Clash of Clans... That shit is addicting... but enough of that... onto the ANIME!!

There were shows ending right? Like I said before, I'll talk a little about that but before I do I'd like to spotlight some new shows that just started for this season...

<drumroll>

SWORD ART ONLINE IS BACK!!!
I have to say... I'm super happy this show is back... This was everything that an episode 1 should be. Established characters... pointed the story in a direction and kind of left it open for the series to properly take shape. I CANNOT wait til this gets into full swing. The last series is one of my favorite shows of all time... Hell, I've honestly watched it 3x already... and it's 25 episodes, thats like 2 seasons worth of watching. The 2nd series is going to be around the same length as well... I urge everyone... WATCH THIS SHOW! Also, if for some reason you've been living under an anime-less rock for a while go watch the first series... It was amazing!

Second show I'm very excited about is a Manga-based show called Akame ga Kill! I have to shout out to the creator of this great story... I adore the manga. I've read everything thats currently available to me... that is, that was translated and put on one of the major manga reading sites like Batoto, Starkana, or Mangahere. I really hope they can bring the essence of the manga to the screen properly because this manga is BLOODY! So far so good, I liked the first episode and cant wait for more.
Now I mentioned how shows ended right... Well, I'm only going to mention the ones I really think you should watch...

  1. Black Bullet - This show started off great and never let me go. The characters were endearing and you really felt the sadness in the stuff they had to deal with and persevere.
  2. Blade & Soul - The story was pretty good and ended up with some decent plot twists when I really wasn't expecting them. Also, the art on this show is top notch. Definitely suggest this one to watch.
  3. No Game No Life - Can you say... Cliffhanger?! Not that it was a bad ending by any means but you can tell they were always looking for Season 2 in the way they handled it. Anyway, this show is pure entertainment. There is always something crazy going on and the group dynamic is really fun. This is a MUST WATCH show IMO!
  4. Akuma no Riddle - Definitely took me by surprise... I don't watch YURI... like EVER! But this show kept it interesting and the action sequences were pretty decent. Kind of a predictable ending if you ask me but it was what it was supposed to be I guess.
  5. Gokukoku no Brynhildr - Another manga based but this one had an awesome plot and really original story. All the quirky characters with their powers were cool and I'd like to see a second series with this... hopefully there will be.

Upcoming Season... Winter 2014!!!

Lots to talk about here... Been keeping my eyes peeled for new things coming down the pike... There are of course some staples for me... Let take a look shall we...

1. Sword Art Online 2 - This is probably the most anticipated show for me. I was absolutely in love with the first season of this when it aired and I've been chomping at the bit for a part 2. After the movie, which was kind of a recap for the most part they announced that there would be another and I couldn't be happier. S1 is easily one of my Top 10 anime of all time for me... So I have high expectations for this.

2. Akame Ga Kill! - I've been reading this manga for some time and even though it can get a little gruesome at times (it is about assassins afterall) the story speaks for itself. This one is shounen through and through... A Battle manga where the MC keeps leveling up by training and hard work. Classic premise and awesome execution. I really hope the show does the manga proud and delivers on that promise....

There is actually more i wanna see... But I think I'll make this a multi-parter and talk about some here and there. Cant wait.
