So I posted yesterday about Yomanga... and how they are scanlating/translating some Manhwa and webtoon series... but I was not prepared for what I found today. So I'll just come out with it...

Site is Stumbled On...

So I think I've said in the past or you should know this about me know... I love manga. There are other forms of manga also though that some people may not know about. Manhwa (Man-wa) is korean and is actually read from left to right like publications here in the states.

I seem to find alot of these Manhwa in the form of WEBTOONs. This is like a separate classification all its own on most of the manga reading sites. I just stumbled onto a site I found after finding a new Webtoon to read. The Webtoon is called 'Sweet Guy' [Batoto]. The scanlators include in their info page, a web address that states Batoto gets the chapters 24 hours after its released on their site. Well... why not read it there?!

Thats what I did.

Manga of the Week!!!

So if you’ve been reading this blog for a while… that is to say maybe the 10 or so people who visit it… Then you probably know that I read a lot of manga. I think that there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t read at least one or two chapters a day. Whether that be a long running series that I’m catching up on or if I run across something that catches my eye… Whatever it may be, I’m always going to be reading something.

It might have been a while since I really posted about a manga I read but here goes.

While skimming my list of manga that’s in my app Mangawatcher [Link]. This app is not on the play store anymore so if you’re gonna use it then you have to side load it to your android device. I’ve looked for a while for something of the equivalent on the iOS side of things but there really isn’t anything that truly comes close. Manga Rock is probably the closest but I just don’t like the way its setup. Anyway… On to the manga!

This week I started and completed something that’s been sitting there for a while now.

Countrouble

Genre:  Comedy, Romance, School, Shounen, Harem, Supernatural

Synopsis: About a boy... Well and boy and an angel. He's in love with the schools #1 cool beauty while being completely unable to approach her. An angel pops into his life to help him with his love situation and its her goal to help him fall in love. The story and hijinx ensue and its a fun whimsical little tale about first loves and how people need to gain courage and confess.

This is a really great story. I'm not biased on story length but I think this is just long enough to get invested with the characters and for the story to properly develop. It got decent user ratings on both of the sites I linked. 4.47/5 on Batoto and 7.56/10 on MAL. I personally gave it an 8/10 on MAL and 4/5 on Batoto. 

Reading Binge...

So I get into these moods sometimes and all I do is just read, read, read. Not really a bad thing but I find myself reading new stuff when I haven't even finished the old stuff yet. So I'm going to do my best to finish up my chapters before looking for new and exciting manga to read.

Been doing a lot of manga reading this week and my 'Manga of the Moment' is...

Nanatsu no Taizai

Its called 'The Seven Deadly Sins' in english and I've been binge reading this for the past week or so. If you read the synopsis its pretty close but doesn't really give the whole story. So, the Seven Deadly sins are a group of Knights who were accused of killing the Great Holy Knight ten years ago and disappeared after the incident. Fast forward to today and the Holy Knights have taken over the kingdom and imprisoned the royals. Elizabeth, the 3rd princess escapes and sets out to find the Deadly Sins to battle the Holy Knights and restore the kingdom. The ball is set in motion when she manages to find Meliodas, the captain of the Sins who is also searching for the rest of his gang. The story takes off from there... If you're used to shounen plots and themes this will seem like a run of the mill story, but I've become wrapped up in it to the point where I'm reading 5-10 chapters a day (I'll be caught up to whats available soon).

Like I just finished Aflame Inferno... Great story but the author like quit half way through to work on another project.

Took a small manga break...

I've been watching a lot anime and keeping as up to date as possible... and decided to take a small break and try and catch up on a few series. For some reason I seem to have like OCD when it comes to manga lately and instead of fully catching up on a series I've been reading... I'll start a brand new one.

Well.. that happened... Again.

Fujiyama-san wa Shishunki

I was considering writing a lil something something about it but I just posted a link to the MAL page for it and that should suffice. I will, however, tell what happens.

So... Boy A tries to sneak a peak into the girls changing room in hopes of seeing Girl C Changing. Girl A ends up obstructing his view but giving him a much better show. With the image burned into his head he becomes enamored with Girl A and asks her out kind of on a whim. To his surprise, she agrees and now they struggle with the awkwardness of being boyfriend/girlfriend and not knowing how to act and also hiding their relationship from everyone. Oh, I also forgot to mention that shes like... super tall... like 20 cm taller than him.

Gotta love the couple dynamic. So far I like it... I didnt really get to experience dating alot when I was younger so its kind of a vicarious type of thing for me... Good story and I cant wait to read more.

Those are probably the main few sites I use. There are others but I'm not going to go through my bookmarks and lay them all out. Also, if you're interested in reading on say a mobile device, I have a suggestion there too...

iPhones you're on your own... I don't like any of the apps on that platform for reading manga. Android however I suggest www.mangawatcher.org. There is an app he has you can download to your phone or tablet and it lets you stream the chapters as well as download them for offline reading. It's what I use just about everyday.

That may feel like a lot... But, it's actually not. I just have a habit of starting and stopping things like this so I've got to stick wit it... Plus MAL lets me keep track of all that.

In other words... if you like anime/manga get a MAL account. I even got an nice lil android app, Pocket MAL that lets me update my lists on the go. Very helpful for those 35 minute train rides in the morning when I knock out like 5-10 chapters that were built up.

Still Alive... Kinda kickin... I guess

Still alive and kicking... Anime still running full throttle and now i got the Xbox One in the mix. Battlefield is fun and OMG i can't wait til Titanfall in 2 weeks. Its gonna be amazing. I didn't get to play as much of the beta as i would have liked and sadly I didn't get my Xbox One soon enough to participate on the console... just the PC. But none the less it was still fun. 

Now... I've been playing catch up on the anime front and i also was able to read a lil bit in there too...

In the past few days I've spent alot of time coming and going from work and making full use of the 40 min each way commute. I've knocked out alot of anime i had backed up... There was some  Kill la Kill in there... some Nagi no Asukara, Engaged to the Unidentified, Magical Warfare, Maken-Ki, Golden Time, Chuunibyou, Strike the Blood, Hamatora, Ippo... I watched Witch Craft Works... I'm more or less current in almost every anime i've been trying to keep up with... There might be one or two with eps still unseen. 

Also got to read some stuff... Stuff that i actually bought for once and didn't read it online. This manga is actually pretty good. I saw it reviewed on animenewsnetwork.com and decided to take a look. Found 2 volumes translated and printed at the local Barnes & Noble and picked them up along with Vol. 1 of Nisekoi. Granted, I've read Nisekoi but its too good to just let go. That anime is so funny its almost side splitting sometimes. Anyway, back to the manga...

From the New World... Group of friends in a post apocalyptic world who now have the use of Magick. What is magick and what are the Adults of the village hiding? What lies beyond the rope surrounding the village... Great story and i cant wait to read more... Haven't decided if i'm going to just read this in print or look ahead and read some online. Either way... It seems awesome and i cant wait to read more.

Haven't posted about any manga in a while and this one kind of just snuck on me. It's really hard to describe the story because it sounds kind of weird and its a lil ecchi... well, alot ecchi actually but i don't really mind that. So here goes...

The main character is your typical 20 something loser virgin you'd expect in this kind of situation. But there's a twist. The Queen of Terror is sealed away in his right testicle. Yes, i said it... Testicle. See... according to the contract between heaven and hell, god was to give the earth back to the devils in the 7th month of the year 20XX. And that month is now... As the queen gets to earth she is sealed by an angel. She was supposed to be sealed into a magic ball... however when the sealing happens, our main character is pissing on said ball. Hence why she ends up in his right nut. Still with me? Ok, so now the devils have to find a way to make this poor boy, this virgin, ejaculate. He has no problem rubbing one out usually but now he has the entirety of humanity to protect... Can he hold out and not let one go? Thats basically the manga in a nut shell...

Now, i've read about nearly 30 chapters or so and its damn funny. This poor guy, i feel so bad for him and i have no idea how he resists. I know i couldn't. Not even close with all the shit they throw at him. Hes abused to no end and assaulted from every side by devils and even the girl at his job who he's in love with. Yea... the normal chick is a super slut nympho when she gets drunk and it seems she cant stay sober when around him. He does do some questionable stuff to her... but still... shes over the top with her desire after a few drinks.

Its not complete yet so I'm pretty sure its gonna end up on my list of reading mangas... like so many others. There just isn't enough time to update with what i read.

UPDATE: Just finished this... Ending was good enough i guess... the over the top ecchi was still funny even til the end. I gave this a 7/10 I'd say. Definitely worth the read if you like ecchi comedy.



Minamoto-kun Monogatari 112

Been reading this manga for the last 112 chapters and its getting a lil crazy. If you've never heard of or read any of it its not your typical shounen manga. theres a good bit of romance, not alot of comedy and alot of sexual situations and innuendo. I dont mind any of these things but they may not be for everyone. Here's a lil synopsis from MAL...

Minamoto-kun has a face pretty enough to make people think he's a girl. Because of his face, he was bullied by the girls in middle school who were jealous of his face. He developed a fear of women due to the trauma and ended up attending a high school for boys. Just as he enters college and makes a promise to himself to overcome the trauma of his past, his father remarries and asks him to move out of the house. His father arranges him to live with his aunt (Minamoto-kun's father's younger sister) for the time being. She is an extremely beautiful woman who is also a non-tenured professor at his college. When he arrives at her apartment, she shows him her breasts and tells him that he will be her "guinea pig" in her reverse Hikari Genji project.

The synopsis doesn't really give it full justice because there is alot more story to be had... For now, ill just focus on the last chapter i read today..

Terumi has more or less been kidnapped by Rokujou... Well, not really kidnapped.. She's kinda yandere for Terumi and wants to always be with him to the point of obsession. Last chapter they had sex for the first time and he wakes up to a filled out marriage certificate. Shes a bit off tilt. Thing is, his aunt isn't done with her experiment and has to come get him from her house. On the way back, she explains more of the situation hes in and how things could have gone. She also praises him which hes unaccustomed to... All the while bringing up the 5th conquest. He cant start while hes in that "state"... she grabs his junk...

Kimi no Iru Machi 260

Its the second to last chapter and as i thought... Reunion time. I kinda figured

it was gonna happen but i really wasn't expecting what just happened. He gets back, has a few drinks with his bud and then takes a chance to visit the place of their promise... the top of the hill where the Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom. He gets there and he has a moment... shes not there... Some blossom petals blow across his face and there, as if in his wildest dreams... Yuzuki is standing there. That day from a year and a half ago flashes through his mind and, as if she'd known all along... she says, "You're late..." He can't help but well with emotion. She continues, 'We're finally watching the cherry blossoms together' with tears streaming down her face. As he rushes to embrace her... he holds her close probably squeezing with all his might... All he can muster is an apology. "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry". The Chapter ends with her welcoming him home.

Although i was taken back by how quickly it came about, this chapter contained everything i thought it would. Knowing Seo Kouji (the author) like i do... I've read alot of his stuff... im almost positive now that we're gonna get a good ending and probably a time skip ahead with kids or something maybe. They deserve it, its been a long road... Nearly 6 years running, this has been one of my goto Manga almost every week. I'll be sad to see it go but anxious to see what comes next. 

Seishun Pop chapter 38

Let me start by saying that i actually like this manga.. but... This is starting to get a little weird. Still a good read just Ayano has been acting strange for a while now and even Shiori seems off. Everyone is worrying about Sakuta. It's not really a bad thing but they seem to be neglecting themselves. He seems almost oblivious to it but maybe he will realize something's up. Getting that worked up about giving him his birthday cake and then Ayano lying about who was at the door. They're getting possessive about him and it's going to come to a head I think. And now with the bassist quitting that will open the door for him to join incest. Fitting the name of the band is how I think this manga will end up... Lol

Kimi no Iru Machi (A Town Where You Live) Ch 259

Kimi no Iru Machi

So I've been reading this since the beginning almost and its one of my all time favorites... Its ending. I'm not sure if i should be sad or happy about this. There were too many twists and turns and seriously at one point i was so mad that i almost decided to stop reading it. I did watch the 12 ep anime they made for this and it was pretty good overall but there is just way too much content...

So this latest chapter they time skipped ahead... Haruto is now at his job for 3 years... I think thats nearly 2 and some change they skipped. I'm not exactly sure, but the beer that he came up with is a huge hit. So big that the company is going to go national with it. Adaichi (his mentor at the company) comes back from a meeting and they go out to have a beer. Next day he finds out that she spilled the beans about Haruto being the one who came up with the beer and he should get the credit and the promotion... Along with a transfer to the main branch in....? TOKYO! Yay right? So now the stage is more or less set for him and Yuzuki's reunion.... and the chapter ends on that bombshell.

Soo... Alot up in the air with these last 2 chapters. People are kinda in a uproar about this... Some hate Yuzuki all together and hope that now shes married... Some said that maybe Yuzuki was pregnant when the breakup happens and hes gonna go there to find out he has a kid... Too many rumors and speculation. I guess i really just can't wait to find out how this one ends.

Actually, Koe do Oshigoto! was started last night and theres about 45 available chapters so i need to catch up on that one today hopefully.

It's about a 16 yr old high school girl who decides to try being a Seiyuu (voice actress) for Ero-ge at her older sisters company while still being a first year in high school. Needless to say... Hilarity ensues.

My Take on things...

-Sooo... I just started reading this and already im hooked. I kinda have a thing for RomCom lately and I probably wont read anything else until all available chapters are assimilated. I linked the the MAL description simply because i love their site and have been a member for so long that its just become second nature. This manga is really entertaining and keeps things interesting. Only made it to about chapter 40 and the comedy is over the top. There's a lil romance thrown into the harem mix but its to be expected. Really hoping for a Yamada x Shiraishi in the end as thats all that really makes sense but they got a few more 'witches' to find so who knows what they could pull outta their hats. I did sadly see this get picked up by Crunchyroll but i still think it might get scanlated outside their grasp.
